The course aims to build capacities among government officials, social partners and other relevant stakeholders to design, implement, monitor and evaluate effective national employment policies. Participants will become acquainted with the employment policy-making process and related technical areas and policy implementation strategies.

The course aims to build capacities among government officials, social partners and other relevant stakeholders to design, implement, monitor and evaluate effective national employment policies. Participants will become acquainted with the employment policy-making process and related technical areas and policy implementation strategies.

Target audience

Target audience

The course is aimed at policy makers, planners, technical staff at ministries; representatives of workers' and employers' organizations. A gender-balanced participation is sought.

Format and Methodology

Format and Methodology

The course is learner-centred and highly participatory. It targets tripartite country delegations: a group of representatives of Ministries in charge of employment and of national planning, economy or finance, of workers and of employers of the same country.

The training activity will be facilitated by a pool of ILO and ITCILO officials and experts. The programme will include lectures, country cases, debates and very interactive group exercises. Working tools will be presented during the sessions. Different learning techniques will be applied in order to facilitate collaborative construction of knowledge and experience sharing.

Language requirements

Sessions will be held in English with interpretation into French and vice versa. Participants should, therefore, have a good command of either English or French.

To register for this course, interested candidates are invited to:

  • fill in and submit the on-line registration form by clicking here;
  • send us a letter from their employer/institution (or a donor organization) stating that it will cover the cost of the course and international travel.

The letter should also certify that candidates have been nominated to participate in the aforementioned course. It must be issued on the organization’s letterhead, stamped and signed by a higher level chief. They can send it by e-mail or attach the document when filling in the registration form. Please note that this is a procedure required for selection purposes; an application form alone is not sufficient for course registration.
