As a follow-up to the Global Workers' Academy on the same topic held in 2016, the course seeks to improve the technical competences of union leaders, educators and organizers in identifying and addressing the underlying causes of informality and the barriers to entry into the economic and social mainstream. It will enable participants to design policy-building blocks and strategies, guided by tested tools and underpinned by ILO's Recommendation 204, to assist transition from the informal to the formal economy.

Target audience

Target audience

The course targets office-holders under 45 years of age whose main responsibilities relate to the informal economy and issues concerning the working poor, inequalities, organizing and collective bargaining.
