97th Session of the International Labour Conference
Delegates and visitors are invited to visit the ILO Turin Centre information stand at the 97th Session of the International Labour Conference, which opened today in Geneva. The Conference brings together the world’s highest labour authorities to discuss the problems affecting the world of work.
“We must deal with important issues such as the promotion of rural employment for poverty reduction, the increase of productivity, employment growth and development, as well as strengthening the ILO’s capacity”, said Mr. Salamín Jaén, elected today as President of the Conference.
The Conference draws some 3,000 delegates and advisers every year, including labour ministers and leaders of workers’ and employers’ organizations from the ILO’s 181 member States.
The Centre’s information stand is located in the “Salle des pas perdus” hall at the Palais des Nations in Geneva and will hold special “focus days” to highlight the activities of the Turin Centre.
