Academy on “Promoting decent jobs in fragile and conflict affected settings”
The Academy on “Promoting decent jobs in fragile and conflict affected settings” started in Beirut on 28 November 2016.
Delivered by leading international experts and drawing on experiences of different countries in applying an integrated approach to job creation in FCAS, the academy has brought together experts and practitioners to share and discuss both policies and practical aspects involved.
Participants got acquainted with tools assessing the impact of fragility on employment, they studied the link between upstream and downstream approaches and got an overview of lessons learned in programmes that aim at creating jobs through employment intensive investment, skills strategies, social protection, enterprise and cooperative development, and local economic recovery.
The event, held in English and Arabic, is organised by the ILO Regional Office for the Arab States, the ILO Fragile States and Disaster Response Team and the ILO International Training Centre. More information can be found here.
