Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy
The International Training Centre of the ILO is organizing, with the European Economic and Social Committee and the International Center of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy (CIERC), the first edition of the “Academy on Social and Solidarity Economy”, from 25 to 29 October 2010, in Turin.
The Academy will bring together the best of worldwide expertise on Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE)and will draw lessons from Africa, Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Arab states.
It will strongly engage participants, through its learning strategy, built around different learning tracks in areas relevant to the concept of SSE:
Getting a common understanding of the concept of SSE;
Exploring the link between SSE and the for pillars of the ILO Decent Work Agenda (employment, social protection, social dialogue and international labour standards);
Policy and legal framework for the promotion and development of SSE;
Governance and Management of SSE organizations and enterprises;
Partnership building and networking of SSE institutions.
