Delivering as One
In the last week of May, a team of ILO gender experts and Centre trainers are running a course on gender auditing in Cape Verde. The facilitators who will get the training come from the UN agencies who share the Joint Office in Cape Verde, their Cape Verdian partners and specialist consultants.
Participatory gender audits are a tool that boosts the collective capacity of an organization to look at its activities and identify its strengths and weaknesses in terms of equality between women and men. It contributes to the taking-over of equality initiatives and furthers organizational learning about gender through team-building, information-sharing and thinking about equality between the sexes.
The four-day course will prepare 30 people to join several teams who will go on to carry out gender audits at the various institutions and organizations taking part.
