On 14 and 15 October the Centre had the great honour of receiving a visit from Dr. Jorge Gaspar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training of Portugal, accompanied by the Director of the ILO Lisbon Office, Ms Mafalda Troncho. The visit took place in the framework of the collaboration agreement between the Centre and the government of Portugal, signed in 2010.
The agreement sets a significant fixed annual contribution to the Centre’s regular budget, as well as establishing the development of a training project involving Portuguese-speaking African countries and East Timor.
The main aim of the visit was to analyse the progress made in the implementation of the training project, which was launched in July 2013. The project, which promotes training activities in Portuguese, comprises distance and face-to-face training activities – both in the countries concerned and in Turin – covering subjects related to employment and vocational training.
