The Board of the International Training Centre of the ILO will meet for its 80th Session on Thursday 26 and Friday 27 October
The Board approves the general lines of the Programme of the Centre and its budget. The report of its meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.
Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important governance and oversight role. The items on the agenda of the 80th Session include discussion on the new Strategic Plan of the ITCILO for 2018-21 and the new Programme and Budget for 2018-19. Other discussions will focus on financial documents and a paper on the “Independent evaluation of training and learning activities on the thematic area of “International Labour Standards’ Organizations”. Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor, as well as the Interim Implementation Report for 2016, will also be considered.
This newly-elected Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, Argentina, Barbados, China, Ivory Coast, United States, France, India, Japan, Mauritania, Romania and Senegal, six Employers' representatives and six Workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the Board. The Chairperson of the Board is the Director-General of the ILO, Mr Guy Ryder.
