The Board of the International Training Centre of the ILO will meet on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 October for its 78th Session
The Board approves the general lines of the Programme of the Centre and its annual budget. The report of its meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.
Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important governance and oversight role. The main items on the agenda of the 78th Session include the discussion of the Strategic Plan and Programme and Budget Proposals for 2016-17 and a paper on the “Independent evaluation of training and learning activities on the thematic area of promotion of gender equality and diversity”. Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor, as well as the Annual Implementation Report for 2014 and an Interim Implementation Report for 2015, will also be considered.
The Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, China, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Ghana, India, Norway, Panama, Sudan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic) and Zimbabwe; six Employers' representatives and six Workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the Board. The Chairperson of the Board is the Director-General of the ILO, Mr Guy Ryder.
