The Centre welcomes a high-ranking delegation from the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
The delegation will visit Turin from 17 March as part of a study tour to Germany and Italy on technical and vocational education and training policies, systems and concepts, organized by the German Technical Co-operation Agency (GTZ).
Among the delegates, the Centre will welcome the Honourable Minister H.E. Tin Naing Thein, Plenipotentiary Minister and Representative of the President Office, and Dr Myo Thein Gyi, Director General of the Department of Education Research Bureau at the Ministry of Education. Representatives of other ministries, the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Comprehensive Education Sector Review are also part of the delegation.
During their visit, the delegation will have an opportunity to see the training offered by the Centre’s and the ILO’s strategies for skills development. At the Centre, the delegation members will be able discuss the possibilities for supporting the vocational education and training system and related institutions in Myanmar, through tailor-made activities.
The study tour aims to improve the understanding of basic skills development policies, systems and concepts, and to show how industry can be encouraged to take the lead in skills development and vocational training. The study tour will support continuing inter-ministerial and government-industry dialogue, and explore options for improving the transition from vocational training to effective income generation, better employment and poverty reduction.
