The Centre celebrates World Environment Day 2017
The Environmental Film Festival and the International Training Centre of the ILO are celebrating World Environment Day (#WorldEnvironmentDay #WithNature 2017) with a Conference on “Cities and societies in transition - Towards a low-carbon and inclusive development”.
The Conference is taking place on Monday, 5 June 2017, on Campus.
The event is devoted to the growing Transition Towns movement, which sees communities organizing themselves to move over to a new model of economic and social development, consistent with a sustainable future based on overcoming the use of fossil energy sources.
It will also explore the concept of just transition, promoted by the ILO Green Jobs Programme.
World Environment Day reminds us to reconnect with nature. At the opening of the International Labour Conference in Geneva, on the same day, the Director-General will present his Report on the “Green Initiative” ( http://www.ilo.org/ilc/ILCSessions/106/reports/reports-to-the-conference/WCMS_554315/lang--en/index.htm).
