Towards a better future for women and work
The Centre is pleased to announce that today, on International Women's Day (8 March), the ILO and Gallup have launched a new report based on data from over 140 countries assessing both women's and men's attitudes to women and work.
The report – Towards a better future for women and work: Voices of women and men – details the results of a global research project involving Gallup World Poll to assess women’s and men’s attitudes to women and work. The findings are based on interviews conducted in 2016 with nearly 149,000 adults in 142 countries and territories on how they perceive the working lives of women. The Centre will soon issue a new Gender and Diversity Action Plan and will launch some new initiatives to develop a better culture in respect of gender equality and diversity inclusion within the Organization. The Director of the Centre will commit to being a Gender Champion and invites each and every staff member to take the pledge, participate and make a whole-hearted contribution.
