This was the opening remark of ILO Director-General Guy Ryder, addressing the 8th Social and Solidarity Academy
“The aim of this Academy is to create a space to share experiences, methodologies and achievements, that would help us build and strengthen our networks and ultimately contribute to social innovation that meets the needs of a world of work in rapid transformation”, continued the ILO Director-General.
The 8th Social and Solidarity Academy, being held in Seoul, South Korea, was opened on Monday 26 June by Won-soon Park, Mayor of Seoul, and will last one week. The focus of the Academy on this occasion is on SSE ecosystems and the future of work.
During the week, policy-makers, practitioners, social entrepreneurs, scholars and representatives of international organizations will discuss different aspects of the social economy, which is defined by the pursuit of social goals beyond making profits.
