C.K. Saji Narayanan
I attended a training programme on social security in January 1998 at the ITC-ILO, in Turin.
It was an unforgettable event, with global exposure and association with great participants from different countries in Asia. The most inspiring aspect of the association is the following: when, later, at some international events, I had the opportunity to meet some of my fellow participants again, they had since acquired important national responsibilities in trade unions and other bodies. All shared the view that the exposure and training they got at the ITC-ILO had been instrumental in achieving greater things in their field of activity. Now I am National President of the BMS (Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh), the largest central trade union in India.
