Thanks to the “Training of trainers in the application of the ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006” course, I have the skills and knowledge with which to make known and promote in my country the advantages and benefits of Peru’s ratification of the MLC 2006. Because of this, I was convened by the Peruvian Congress to explain the MLC 2006 to the Merchant Marine of Peru Forum.
In addition, I am working in conjunction with the Peruvian labour authorities and the ILO in Lima towards Peru’s ratification of the MLC 2006 and of ILO Convention No. 188 on Work in the Fishing Sector (2007).
My next goal is to participate in the workshop on national legal implementation of the ILO MLC 2006 at the ITC in Turin.
