Culture and leisure

The Romans founded Turin over 2,000 years ago. In 1861, it became the first capital of a new state, Italy. Although it owes its recent development mainly to industry, Turin has played a leading role in the nation's history and is a city of many vocations: political, social and cultural.

Today, it offers a variety of attractions: Roman ruins, Baroque monuments, urban landscapes, world-class museums, a vibrant cultural life and myriad opportunities for sport and recreation. Not to mention superb Italian food and drink.

Moreover, the Centre is within striking distance of both mountains and sea. The Alps form a mountain backdrop to the campus, and the Mediterranean Sea is two hours' drive away.
