The Americas

The International Training Centre of the ILO offers support in implementing the decent work agenda in Latin America and the Caribbean. Through training and institutional strengthening, it contributes to the implementation of decent work strategies and the achievement of national and regional objectives and results identified by the ILO and its constituents. These form part of the Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPS) and the Agenda for the Hemisphere for men and women to obtain productive work in conditions of freedom, equality, security and dignity.

Our training courses use innovative training methods, cover all areas of work of the ILO in the region and other issues concerning social development, project design, social policy, training policy and learning methodology for governments, workers, employers and civil society. The training is offered in different languages of the region (Spanish, Portuguese, English and French) and held in Turin, at a distance or in different countries of the continent.

Each year, we issue a calendar of regular courses open to all. Upon request, training activities can be tailored to the specific needs of partner institutions, even for the medium or long term.

The Centre establishes partnerships with other international organizations, and with national and regional institutions, to run training projects, programmes and events, and to share experience of issues related to decent and productive work.

It also tenders for projects financed by third parties, when those projects have training components in its areas of expertise.
