The ITC’s Social Protection Programme, SafeWork and the ILO office in Mexico City ran the workshop in conjunction with Mexican institutions (the Fundación Gonzalo Rio Arronte IAP, the Consejo Nacional contra Adicciones, INPIAD, S.C. and the Confederación de Trabajadores de México) in Puebla, Mexico, from 7 to 11 December 2009.
It was attended by 25 delegates from different CTM federations in Mexico and staff involved in promoting health in the workplace.
The purpose was to provide participants with new knowledge and skills that would lead to psychosocial and health-promotion issues being integrated into a comprehensive enterprise policy for preventive action at the workplace. The issues covered were stress at work, HIV-AIDS, smoking, drugs, alcohol and violence.
