The activity had been requested by the ACT/EMP field specialist and by employers’ organizations in the sub-region because there was a clear need for training in project design and management that would supply the tools needed to put forward and manage both national and international projects more effectively.
The workshop focused on developing the logical framework, planning activities and resources, and on monitoring and evaluation systems.
The training consisted of presentations on key factors, case studies and group work. Each country team put together a logical framework as the first step in preparing a project proposal. The workshop ended with a round-table discussion involving leading international organizations, development banks, foundations and other donors to development projects in the Andean countries.
Specific material produced for the workshop included a guide for employers' organizations entitled “Project design and principles of project cycle management”.
