The Social Protection, Governance and Tripartism Programme aims at disseminating knowledge and good practices worldwide. It contributes to institutional capacity building by providing training courses and other learning events, both in Turin and in various other regions, for ILO constituents, staff from UN agencies and other development partners and stakeholders.

The Programme covers the following areas of expertise:

The Programme offers a vast array of training courses in the aforementioned areas of expertise, drawing on the extensive knowledge base produced by the ILO on a global basis. The Programme training offer also includes annual Academies (2 weeks in duration) where new knowledge and trends related to international labour migration, social security, labour administration, labour inspection and social dialogue are discussed by key experts from the ILO and other reputable institutions worldwide.

Tailor-made training courses in these areas of expertise can be designed on request to respond directly to the clients’ needs. These training courses, delivered either in Turin or in the field, take into account specific organizational learning needs in order to ensure relevance and impact.

The Programme also organizes a Master’s in Occupational Safety and Health with university accreditation.

The Programme draws on a worldwide network of leading experts in the fields of social protection, occupational safety and health, international labour migration, labour administration and labour inspection, labour law, and social dialogue.

The Programme delivers courses in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Arabic, and has gained considerable experience in organizing global, regional and national training activities.
