Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA)

We aim to help the modernization of training systems, principally by studying and disseminating ways in which the latest insights from learning theory and from information and communications technology (ICT) are used in flexible online learning and in face-to-face learning.

Ever-swifter changes in technology and workflow are generating an exponential increase in training needs, which training systems are failing to meet.

This challenge affects the labour market, the job competence of workers and employers, the employment situation and society in general.

We provide technical assistance and consultancy in the following areas:

  • analysing pedagogic, organizational, technological and economic aspects of ICT use to generate innovative approaches to training and learning
  • making training flexible by using:
    - learning theory
    - ICT appropriate to the technological state of the countries involved
    - online approaches
    - face-to-face approaches
  • identifying new professional profiles and skills in the management, design, development, delivery and evaluation of training and learning.

We offer specific courses that meet the need of training organizations and systems for policies that will improve their methodology and their technology. We can organize these activities either for face-to-face groups or for distance learning.

We conduct and coordinate long-term technical assistance projects that improve training systems, focusing on competence, training skills and technology management.

We advise all the Centre's units on the design and implementation of ICT-based training activities.
