Mainstreaming gender equality 

Gender equality and non-discrimination are central to the work of the ILO. The Gender Coordination Unit acts as a catalyst for a gender perspective in all the Centre's policies, programmes and activities.

Our focus is on creating better living and working standards for women and men by alleviating poverty, promoting human rights and fostering gender equality and equal opportunities for all.

Besides creating the conditions for an effective integration of gender issues into every stage of all training projects and activities, the Unit designs and implements gender-specific projects both at the Centre and on-line.
