The regional dimension
The Centre's Turin campus is an international meeting place. Here, people from different corners of the earth, with differing agendas and interests, share ideas and experience in a search for joint solutions to common problems. People who cannot come to Turin can enjoy similar opportunities through our activities in their home regions or distance learning activities.
The Centre is sensitive to the particular characteristics of its many target groups. The content, method and language of our programmes reflect the particular needs and circumstances of our course participants.
The Centre has five Regional Programmes. These deal with Africa, the Americas, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, and Europe, respectively. Their purpose is to ensure that our courses reflect the cultural and linguistic characteristics of the participants. These Programmes monitor the needs in their regions and coordinate our activities with the field offices of the International Labour Organization. They also help raise the funds that finance the Centre's activities in those regions.
