Trade Union Training in Negotiation & Collective Bargaining Strategies
Promoting effective recognition of freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining is an integral part of decent work and the ILO’s mandate.
Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding on education cooperation between the All China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and ACTRAV in 2003, the Programme for Workers’ Activities at the ITC-ILO in Turin has been holding tailor-made training courses to build the capacity of ACFTU officials to promote decent work.
The courses aim to boost the organizational and technical capacities of ACFTU leaders concerning negotiation and collective bargaining strategies, including understanding a company’s financial information and using ILO instruments to promote freedom of association and collective bargaining rights.
A study visit to one of the European trade unions is an integral part of the course.
