The International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization (ITCILO) is offering an Advanced Course in Social Innovation and Sustainable Development:Entrepreneurship for Social Impact, which combines the sound academic background of the Academia with the ITCILO’s international training experience as well as the consolidated technical capacity of:  

 

 

PerMicro, founded in 2007 in Torino (Italy), is the first Italian institution in terms of number of granted microcredits and disbursed amount. Today PerMicro is present in 11 Italian regions with 15 branches and it counts 54 employees.

 PerMicro is one of the microfinance’s pioneers in Western Europe. The institution is very active in the national and international scene: it is one of the founders of Rete Italiana degli operatori di Microfinanza (RITMI), the Italian association of microfinance institutions; moreover, it is an active member of European Microfinance Network (EMN). In 2015, PerMicro was chosen among the six best microcredit institutes in Europe to be part of the guarantee fund from European Investment Fund (FEI) financed by the European Community (Employment and Social Innovation Programme). In 2016, PerMicro obtained the B Corp certification as well as the Rating from both Microfinanza Rating (BB+) and Standard & Poor’s (B-).

 PerMicro collaborates with PerMicroLab to offer to its entrepreneurs important auxiliary services, such as mentoring and monitoring.

PerMicroLab is a non-profit association operating with the purpose of pursuing social solidarity aims and giving support to socially and economically disadvantaged people. The Association now counts a total of 78 Volunteer Mentors.

 

 

  

 

SocialFare was founded in 2013 in Torino as an innovative response to a specific insight and observation: current linear actions are not sufficient to tackle societal challenges. A new approach is necessary to develop and bring together competences, networks, and experimentations to design, test and grow social impact solutions. Social Innovation is that new approach enabling multi-stakeholder efforts for social good. SocialFare is located in Torino, in the premises of Rinascimenti Sociali, the place and convergence network dedicated to accelerate social impact knowledge and entrepreneurship in Italy.

SocialFare has a team of social innovators: systemic designers, business analysts and developers, products, experts in social services and entrepreneurship.

Socialfare applies systemic design and design SocialFare | Center for Social Innovation 2 thinking as core methodologies to develop impact projects; the team works with communities and
accelerate hands-on engagement, capacity-building and impactful enterprises.

SocialFare works by blending differente expertise, behavioural insights, communities’ practices and enabling technologies to deliver social impact actions: new services, models and enterprises to improve society’s well-being and generate systemic change.

Impact areas
Impact Design: SocialFare designs, prototypes and validates new products, services and models to tackle contemporary societal challenges to create social impact.

SocialFare co-designs solutions with the beneficiaries, generating awareness and knowledge so to foster and share capacity for systemic change.

Startup Acceleration: Twice a year SocialFare launches FOUNDAMENTA, a 4 month-acceleration program during which the accelerator works hands-on with selected start-ups in order to boost their businesses and make them vcready, i.e. ready to obtain funds.

Methodology
SocialFare applies a human-centred approach combined with systemic design and design thinking methodologies: beneficiaries are at the centre of the design and delivery process. Experts and impact networks accompany and support social innovations to make them become replicable and scalable.

SocialFare challenges inequality through impact innovation using a unique mixed methodology: systemic design and design thinking, necessary to design innovation, engagement and  experimentation of new solutions and approaches.
