TRADE UNION E-LEARNING COURSE UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION FRAMEWORK AND THE DECENT WORK AGENDA

WELCOME TO THIS SELF-GUIDED TRAINING FOR TRADE UNIONS

23 October–23 December 2021
The course is available in English

The world needs more responsive trade union organizations with solid influence and knowledge to embrace the 2030 development Agenda and shape its implementation at all levels, ensuring decent work priorities and outcomes.

This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) aims to raise the interest of trade unions on matters related to UN processes, SDGs, DWCPs, etc. It offers trade unions an alternative and interactive way of learning about this complex topic while reinforcing the capacities of unions.

By completing this self-guided learning journey, trade unions will better understand UN Reforms and Decent Work Country Programmes (DWCPs) and the impact of Covid-19 on Agenda 2030 and the UN’s SDGs. As a result, your trade union will be equipped for taking on a more assertive role in shaping national, sub-regional, and regional policies.

What topics does it cover?

This course covers three learning modules:

  • Key elements of the UN reforms and the ILO decent work agenda
  • Trade unions’ integration on Decent Work priorities into the UN Cooperation Framework, and
  • Frameworks for effective trade union responses to the COVID-19 crisis.
How this the course organized?

This course is designed to allow you to complete it at your own pace, at your own time, and on your own device.

A pre-knowledge assessment test (pre-KAT) will measure your stock knowledge about the topic.

A post-KAT will measure the knowledge you acquired and retained from the course.

The three interactive modules should be completed consequently. You can progress to the next module only after completing the previous module. Some parts have accompanying audio, interactive animations, and videos which play as you scroll down.

Each module consists of several sub-chapters, which can be completed within 30 minutes or less. At the end of each module is a five-minute quiz, which you need to complete.

How will you receive a certificate of participation

Mandatory requirements are necessary to receive the ITCILO digital certificate of participation. These include completion of the pre-KAT, three learning modules, the post-KAT, and the course evaluation.

Good luck!
