This course focuses on sectoral and local policies that address decent work deficits in the informal economy. Participants will work on a specific sector (domestic work, construction, tourism...) or locality (local economic development strategies), with a view to promoting integrated interventions that support the transition from informal to formal employment (employment quality), create formal jobs or prevent informalization.

Introduction to the course

Who attends this course?

The course targets officials from various ministries (employment, commerce, planning, social affairs, enterprise development) and in particular their local representatives; representatives of workers' and employers' organizations; staff of representative organizations of workers and enterprises in the informal economy; and local development actors.
