In our review of market systems development (MSD) training and capacity building programs, we found little evidence of comprehensive sustained learning programs focused specifically on MSD for fragile and conflict-affected areas. In order to serve communities in FCAS, it is crucial that practitioners, multi-lateral agencies, donors, governments and other stakeholders have access to training and resources that build skillsets and capacity for designing sustainable market systems solutions. The Resilient Markets Academy will be designed to meet this need.
The Academy offers a dynamic learning experience that emphasizes business models that support the economic inclusion of vulnerable groups and applies market systems thinking to technical sectors.
The Academy combines plenary sessions which are common for the entire group and specific elective courses that each participant chooses to attend according to their preferences and needs.
In plenaries, participants will explore common themes to market systems development, for example:
- The business case for market systems programming as a pathway to long term resilience
- Tools, approaches and business models of market systems development, and how these apply and adapt in challenging crises contexts
- Monitoring and measurement of market based programs
In elective courses participants will have an opportunity to deepen their knowledge on selected subjects. The offer of elective courses is currently under development.
Check this page in the next months to download the timetable of the programme, including various courses that will be offered in the RMA.
