The Academy will provide participants with a unique opportunity to gain new insights, share experiences and reflect on key issues, trends and challenges relating to workplace compliance through labour inspection.

Labour administration/inspection officials; representatives of workers' and employers' organizations; ILO officials and staff of technical cooperation projects; experts, researchers, trainers and consultants in labour-related issues.

• Describe the ILO labour inspection information system assessment tool
• Apply new technologies and media for labour inspection
• Plan and conduct occupational safety and health inspection
• Apply a participatory labour inspection methodology to the informal economy
• Promote the fundamental principles and rights at work
• Identify non-standard forms of employment
• Make the business case for labour inspection

Methodology

Methodology

A participatory approach combining presentations by experts, discussions, exercises, case studies and group work will be adopted throughout the Academy. It will combine plenary sessions with elective parallel sessions.

Languages

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in the three languages of the Academy (English, French, Arabic and Spanish) in all plenary sessions. Translation into French, Arabic and Spanish will be available in selected elective parallel sessions only.

Participation cost in the Academy (3,735 Euros) includes:

• Tuition and use of ITCILO Campus facilities;
• Single-room accommodation at the ITCILO Campus, full board and medical insurance.
