Description

The course aims to improve the competencies of its participants in the application of the knowledge areas required for effective project implementation in accordance with professional standards used by project management bodies, the ILO, United Nations Organizations and multilateral development banks.

Target audience

Target audience

This course is aimed at project directors, project implementation staff, Chief Technical Advisors (CTAs) from projects funded by International Financial Institutions (IFIs) or implemented through International Organizations. Candidates are expected to be currently involved in the management and oversight of such projects. Previous knowledge or work experience in project management and/or financial management in the public or private sector is an asset.

Objectives

The course aims to enhance the competencies of its participants in the application of the knowledge areas of project management and to subsequently design applicable project implementation information system in
accordance with professional standards acceptable to all multi-lateral development banks (e.g. World Bank, Regional Development Banks) and their respective governments as well as with standards used in United Nations Development Cooperation projects (e.g. ILO, UNDP).

All open courses are available to interested candidates, particularly those involved in the implementation of public sector reform programmes or development projects funded by the UN, EU and/or multilateral banks as well as bilateral technical assistance programmes which normally have budgetary allocations earmarked for training expenses.
