Topic-wise, the course will build on the experience gained from the regional course on the future of work introduced in 2019. It will tackle the following issues: i) Defining non-standard employment; ii) Understanding trends in non-standard employment; iii) The reasons why employers use non-standard employment, and how it affects them; iv) The effect on workers, labour markets and society; v) Addressing decent work deficits in non-standard employment; vi) The challenges posed by flexibilization and deregulation in national labour law reforms; vii) Action points for trade unions, in particular organizing workers in NSFE, advocacy for workers' rights, and protection of rights through collective bargaining agreements. The course will pay special attention to the impact of digitalization on employment and workers' rights in general, and to younger workers.

Target audience

Target audience

The course targets trade-union decision-makers and policy-makers from Europe and Central Asia under 45 years of age who are responsible for the design and implementation of trade-union strategies for organizing workers in non-standard forms of employment and protecting their rights at work.
