Description

Description

This blended trade-union training course will contribute to the development and enhancement of trade-union understanding, skills and capacities in social dialogue and collective bargaining, and to the creation of an enabling environment conducive to the full exercise of workers' rights, leading to decent work, inclusive growth and equitable development. Experts will be engaged to discuss core labour standards, related ILO conventions and international instruments, including key policy developments and matters discussed at the ILC. Practitioners and participants will analyse key issues and challenges, gaps and needs faced by trade unions concerning freedom of association, trade union organizing, collective bargaining and social protection. The course will provide an opportunity for sharing good practices, effective strategies and lessons learned concerning social dialogue, organizing and collective bargaining in the region, as well as mainstreaming social dialogue in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It will help participants to develop country-specific strategies and priority trade-union actions to achieve ratification of ILO Convention 144 and the use of social dialogue and collective bargaining to achieve decent work for all. This blended course includes a three-week, tutor-guided distance-learning component and a five-day face-to-face training course.
