Freedom of association and collective bargaining
Freedom of association is a universally recognized and protected human right, and a core ILO value. It is related to the right to collective bargaining, which allows workers to negotiate working conditions freely with their employers.
As enabling mechanisms, both freedom of association and collective bargaining are particularly significant for achieving decent work.
We provide training and technical assistance on international labour standards (ILS) on freedom of association and collective bargaining and on the work of the ILO supervisory bodies, to strengthen their application all over the world.
