A tailor-made training course on “Strategic planning in vocational education and training (VET) systems” for Kazakhstan will be held in Astana from 26 to 30 July 2010.
Kazakhstan is reforming its VET system, and strategic planning is therefore of extreme importance. Its main objective is to make sure the whole workforce is employable. At all VET levels, strategic planning is the main tool for implementing appropriate benchmarking policies and managerial responses to challenges in the world of work.
This training course has been organized jointly by the ITC-ILO and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It will enable Kazakhstan’s decision-makers to implement the best choices for meeting the specific needs in their fields of action.
At the end of the course, senior staff at all management levels in the country will have:
- strengthened capacity to analyse and evaluate strategic planning approaches in the VET sector (cognitive dimension);
- strengthened professional commitment to integrating identified needs into strategic planning for the VET sector (affective dimension);
- strengthened capacity to design strategic plans for the VET sector and put them into practice (psychomotor dimension).
