Training of trainers in business development
Two training of trainers in business development courses have been held in the Canary Islands (Spain) in collaboration with the Employers' Confederations – CEOE Tenerife and CCE Gran Canaria – and the Canary Islands Employment Service.
The courses trained participants as facilitators working with the methods employed by the ILO programmes “GYB - Generate your business idea” and “SYB - Start your business”.
These training packages, which have been successfully implemented in more than 100 countries, are designed by the ILO to improve the competencies of suppliers of business development services so that they can help potential entrepreneurs to generate business ideas and turn them into viable enterprises, generating quality employment in the process.
The activities, which took place in Las Palmas from 27 to 31 January and La Laguna from 4 to 7 February, were attended by professional participants in charge of services supporting enterprises working in the different organizations present in the territory.
The training of trainer courses form part of a larger scale project designed to promote entrepreneurship in the Canary Islands, which is planning new training activities targeted at potential entrepreneurs with a business idea that can be developed and implemented as an employment creation opportunity.
