I would like to share this positive feedback from the OECD-LEED about the Malang expert meeting. We, too, do feel that the event was successful and conducive to further collaboration with the OECD. ….
In particular, we are pleased with the feedback on the methodology we used - as you know, still rather uncommon in the ILO. Much of this is thanks to the crucial and professional role of the ITC, Turin, in designing and facilitating the meeting ...
Finally, we obtained substantive insight into how to support effective crisis response strategies at local level …

Mr Sylvain Giguere, OECD participant in the Joint Expert Meeting held by the ILO and the OECD in Malang, Indonesia, from 1 to 3 December 2009.
I would like to thank you all for great collaboration and a very successful event last week. The meeting was very productive in generating ideas for further work and getting a clear picture of current issues and trends in the region. It was great to be given the opportunity to learn lessons from ILO projects implemented in the country. The attendance of ILO staff from all over the Asia-Pacific region also enhanced the debates. The way the meeting was organized greatly stimulated the exchange of information and views, and I believe much of this format should be kept in future joint events.
I hope the meeting helped you attain your objectives as much as it helped us. We would like to continue our partnership, and I will send you some suggestions for your 2010-2011 programme of work on the basis of our discussions.
Finally, it is very pleasant to be working with you all, and I look forward to the next occasion.
