Fruitful cooperation to come
The Director of the ITC-ILO, Mr François Eyraud, will sign a memorandum of understanding today with the Academy of Labour and Social Relations of the Russian Federation, represented by Mr V. Kamenetsky, Rector of the Academy.
Since it was set up in 1919, the Academy of Labour and Social Relations has been the leading academic and scientific institution in the Russian Federation. It provides training in economics, the sociology of work, social management, finance, jurisprudence, social relations, industrial relations, safety and ecology.
The Academy runs both residential and distance training from its 17 branches across the Russian Federation, one in Kazakhstan and one in Ukraine. It also has six representation offices in Russia and one in Bulgaria.
With the long-term objectives of expanding and intensifying training activities in the field of labour and social policy, and of promoting tripartism, the Academy will cooperate with the ITC-ILO to secure mutual benefits and achieve common goals, through:
- the exchange of training programmes at the national and regional levels;
- staff training activities and exchanges;
- sharing knowledge and developing various forms of regional cooperation.
