High-level Tripartite Dialogue on the European Social Model in the Context of Globalization (Turin - Italy, 1-3 July)
How can we cope with a rapidly changing global economy, whilst promoting the values of Decent Work? What are the best approaches for anticipating and managing industrial change while putting the theory of “flexicurity” into practice? How is the European social model adapting to the challenges of globalization? These and other current issues will be discussed by prominent European experts, politicians, government officials and worker and employer representatives at a “High-level tripartite Dialogue on the European social model in the context of globalization” to be held at the ITC-ILO in Turin from 1 to 3 July 2008.
This event is organized by the Centre with funding from DG Employment Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (European Commission). Participants will examine best practices for coping with industrial change while considering how to put the theory of flexicurity into practice and modernizing the European social model. The meeting will also be the occasion for a number of European and non-European Ministers of Labour to exchange views on future challenges and opportunities for the European social model and ILO’s Decent Work Agenda. http://www.itcilo.org/hld2008
