Learning is an unending process for life, and now it is certified, too!
The ITC-ILO Lifelong E-Learning course has received its first international certification: for e-learning concerning capacity development.
The Centre has so far run this course five times, and will do so again on the ITC-ILO campus from 13 to 17 June 2011, with on-line phases before and after the residential module.
This training activity has obtained the new “Open ECBCheck” accreditation for e-learning programmes and institutions involved in international capacity building. It is part of a quality-improvement scheme that allows capacity-building organizations to measure the success of their e-learning programmes.
After self-assessment and peer-review phases, the scheme has now awarded its first five certifications. These are extremely important, since an international agreement on quality standards in e-learning had been missing.
The ITC-ILO obtained certification together with other pioneer organizations in e-learning for capacity development, such as the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research and the World Bank Institute.
