Launch of the residential phase of the Master in Management of Development

Twenty-four participants are currently in Turin for the 17th edition of the Master in Management of Development programme, run jointly by the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization and the University of Turin.

The programme provides an excellent opportunity for professionals from public and private institutions and NGOs to strengthen their competencies and skills in the management of development projects and programmes. It consists of an intensive one-year, three-phase blended learning programme, with Internet-based distance learning, a residential phase, and practical research work.

The residential phase started on 22 January 2018, when the Scientific Committee welcomed 24 participants from 19 countries, among them 11 women, to the campus of the International Training Centre. The group represents a wide spectrum of academic backgrounds: from information technology to project management; political science, law and sociology to economics and business administration; engineering to international relations, journalism, and public relations. This variety is especially significant because development work applies to all spheres of life, and the goal of the programme is to supplement the participants’ knowledge and previous experience in development cooperation with project management skills and additional information on economic, legal and institutional issues.

This is the 17th edition of the Master in Management of Development. It is delivered in English and has been successfully completed by over 520 students from more than 80 countries around the world.
