7th Master's degree course on Management of Development
After interacting “virtually” for the 12 weeks of the distance learning phase, the 33 participants (from 19 countries) in the 7th Master’s degree course on Management of Development today met course tutors, trainers and administrators at the opening of the face-to-face part of the course, which will run in Turin until 6 June 2008.
Quite a few participants in the previous courses have gone on to register success stories. Andrea Micconi (Italy), for example, saw his project for plastic recycling in Burkina Faso (watch the video) take off, thanks in part to a World Bank prize; the Brazilian Flavia Carneiro was awarded a special prize by her government for a project on “Tutoring Childhood by Empowering Women in Brazilian Slums”. For many others around the world, the course has opened the door to a career in development. The portfolio of postgraduate courses offered by the Centre in conjunction with the University of Turin and other important institutions includes Occupational Health and Safety in the Workplace, International Trade Law, Intellectual Property, Cultural Projects for Development, and Public Procurement Management for Sustainable Development. The last three lead to Master's degrees. Click here for more information.
