Sound public procurement management, a way towards good governance and national progress
The fifth Master’s programme in Public Procurement Management for Sustainable Development run by the ITC-ILO will start on 1 November 2010. Successful students will be awarded a first level MSc from the University of Turin.
The programme is a mix of theory and practice, combining the study of policy tools and theories with applied assignments and research work. It will provide participants with direct access to the expertise of academics, international organizations and think tanks, and introduce the latest literature and research.
The objective of this Master's is to help bridge the current shortage of qualified people in this field, and to equip procurement professionals to meet the challenges of regulating, executing, and monitoring public procurement in an economic and socially responsive manner.
The programme will be held in English. The timetable will be as follows:
- A distance-learning phase from 1 November 2010 to 28 February 2011.
- A face-to-face residential with compulsory attendance at the ITC-ILO campus from 1 March to 30 June 2011.
- Preparation of dissertation proposal by June 2011 and submission of final dissertation by November 2011.
The face-to-face component of the programme will be held at the International Training Centre of the ILO in Turin, Italy. Its campus and facilities provide an ideal environment for living and studying, sharing experiences, and creating networks.
