Passionate about changing the way we learn and train
Lifelong E-Learning: Innovative Solutions. Phase 2 of this training activity will take place at the ITC-ILO from 19 to 23 April 2010. Lifelong e-learning focuses on interactive technology and communication systems that enhance the learning experience and have the potential to transform the way we learn and train.
The potential impact of the Internet and of information and communication technology (ICT) on development has been widely discussed by the United Nations system and other organizations, together with civil society, especially at the World Summits on the Information Society (Geneva 2003, Tunis 2005).
ICT-enhanced learning (e-learning) has opened up new potential for education and training. It is ever more widespread, and is fundamental to making education and training available to many more people around the world. It provides multiple means of access to lifelong learning.
This course will make an important contribution to the professional development of the twelve participants coming to the ITC-ILO, in terms of competencies needed to design and implement e-learning systems.
In a broader perspective, the course will tackle the general question of how e-learning, information and communication technology can promote lifelong learning, innovation, employability and knowledge management by individuals and organizations.
