The Board of the International Training Centre of the ILO will meet on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 October for its 79th Session
The Board approves the general lines of the Programme of the Centre and its budget. The report of its meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.
Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important governance and oversight role. The items on the agenda of the 79th Session include the discussion on the financial documents and a paper on the “Independent evaluation of training and learning activities on the thematic area of “Strengthening Employers’ Organizations”. Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor, as well as the Annual Implementation Report for 2015 and an Interim Implementation Report for 2016, will also be considered.
The Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, China, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Ghana, India, Norway, Panama, Sudan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic) and Zimbabwe; six Employers' representatives and six Workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the Board. The Chairperson of the Board is the Director-General of the ILO, Mr Guy Ryder.
