The Board of the International Training Centre of the ILO will meet on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October for its 77th Session
The Board approves the general lines of the Programme of the Centre and its annual budget. The report of its meeting is submitted to the Governing Body of the ILO.
The Board is composed of 24 members appointed by the Governing Body of the ILO: 12 government representatives from Germany, China, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, Ghana, India, Norway, Panama, Sudan, Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic), Zimbabwe as well as six Employers' representatives and six Workers' representatives. The Italian Government, the Region of Piedmont, the City of Turin, and the Unione Industriale of Turin are also represented on the Board.
The Chairperson of the Board is the Director-General of the ILO, Mr Guy Ryder.
Under the Statute of the Centre, the Board plays an important governance and oversight role. The main items on the agenda of the 77th Session include an Annual Implementation Report for 2013 and an Interim Implementation Report for 2014; a paper on “The role of the Centre in ILO learning and capacity development” as well as a progress report on mainstreaming gender equality. Reports from the Internal Auditor and External Auditor, as well as the Programme and Budget Proposals for 2015 will also be considered.
