The Centre welcomes a delegation of Brazilian Mayors and representatives of the Brazilian organization for micro and small enterprise assistance (SEBRAE) along with a delegation from Cape Verde
Attending the Third World Forum of Local Economic Development taking place in Turin on 13 to 16 October 2015, the Brazilian delegation has expressed an interest in visiting the ITCILO.
The main objective of the visit is to discuss cooperation in the area of local economic development, in response to the Post-2015 Sustainable Development challenges.
The members of the delegation include mayors, government representatives, officials of the National Confederation of Municipalities, SEBRAE and journalists, all working in the country for the advancement of local economic development.
Among the BRICS countries, Brazil has a leading position in advocating and promoting new partnerships in South-South cooperation and support for micro and small enterprises. Local economic development is high on the agenda for local authorities in Brazil, who are eager to share their experience and support developing countries.
Among the many major projects and programmes financed by the Brazilian Government, the Centre carried out a training project in the field of disaster risk reduction and local development.
The Centre and the ILO are welcoming these new opportunities to share knowledge and build partnerships for development with Brazil.
