The Centre welcomes Mr Ahmad Shah Salehi, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Martyrs and Disabled of the Government of Afghanistan
at the launch of the Project to promote rural youth employment in Afghanistan through entrepreneurship education and vocational training
On 11 July 2016, at the South-South and Triangular Collaboration Academy, Mr Ahmad Shah Salehi, the Centre and the ILO will launch a major development cooperation project to promote more and better jobs for young women and men in the rural economy of Afghanistan.
The project will run for three years and is funded by the Government of Norway under the ILO-Norway Partnership agreement.
The project will focus on:
- training and knowledge development for policy level stakeholders on youth employment policy design under conditions of fragility and
- training for local vocational training and technical education service providers, in order to provide skills and entrepreneurship training to young women and men
