The ITC-ILO will be the only training institution taking part in the World Social Security Forum
The World Social Security Forum has been organized by the International Social Security Association (ISSA) to focus on the future of social security in a post-crisis context. It will take place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 29 November to 4 December 2010.
The ITC-ILO’s Social Protection Programme will take part in this event with a booth at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
The Forum will provide a platform on which to analyse and debate key issues in social security today. It will cover the following topics:
global developments and trends in social security
the impact of demographic changes on social security
good governance guidelines and management concepts for social security organizations
ISSA and ILO strategies for the extension of social security
the contribution of social security to African development
the World Social Security Summit
the 30th ISSA General Assembly, and meetings of the ISSA Bureau and the ISSA Council.
The event will bring together over one thousand leaders and administrators of social security institutions, policy-makers, representatives of international organizations and social policy experts from more than 100 countries.
The ISSA is an international institution that brings together 339 social security agencies and organizations from 151 countries. Its main objective is to promote social security in a globalizing world, by supporting excellence in social security administration through information, research, expert advice and platforms.
