Think young!

Although young people are the most highly educated generation, they encounter difficulties in entering and remaining in the labour market. Their transition to the world of work is problematic.

The ILO Decent Work Team and Country Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ILO DWT/CO), based in Moscow, is organizing a sub-regional Conference on Youth Employment Promotion in cooperation with the Centre.

The event is being run by the sub-regional Network on Youth Employment, established under the ILO “Partnerships for Youth Employment in the Commonwealth of Independent States” project in response to a pressing need for action expressed by the International Labour Conference. The project supports institutions and other actors in identifying effective responses to the youth employment crisis, through cooperation and partnerships at regional, national, and sub-national levels.

Representatives of BRICS countries and of the ILO tripartite constituents from nine Eastern European and Central Asian countries have been invited to take part in the event. The agenda will include presentations of peer review policies, programmes and institutions in the field of youth employment having an impact within the sub-region.
