Turin International Summer School on “Europe, migration and inclusive growth: a focus on human capital”
The Centre is participating in the organization of the Summer School with the Piedmont Regional Council, the University of Turin, UNICRI, ETF and the University Institute of European Studies
In the context of global economic crises, migration flows and the resulting social developments, human capital has become a key factor in fostering growth and expanding options for social inclusion. Human capital has a unique value that should not be exploited but capitalized. This requires sound policies and governance strategies to develop its potential for innovation, to attract migrants who can contribute to enriching it and to turn it into a vehicle of social inclusion.
This Summer School will take place from 22 September to 3 October 2014, at the “Luigi Einaudi” University campus in Turin, with the objective of providing participants with an overview of policies and legislative frameworks relevant to these themes, as well as detailed case studies on their applications. It will also be a forum for the elaboration and exchange of ideas on human capital-focused strategies to foster growth and tackle problems related to migration.
The ultimate goal is to develop a set of conceptual tools and practical skills that can help participants both contribute to, and benefit from, the potential of human capital in professional, academic, policy-making and/or governmental contexts.
